Animals of the Southwest

This beautiful quilt was designed, pieced, and quilted by members of the Red Rock Quilters of Sedona, AZ. The quilt measures 76" x 95".  The centerpiece is a Bighorn Sheep, inspired by the sculpture, Cheyenne, by Elwood M Reynolds. The cornerstones are bear paws which symbolize strength. The border symbols include (clockwise from top left) a Membres deer, a Papgo Indian lizard, a Membres bird, a Membres Pueblo turkey, an Acoma Pueblo quail, a Pueblo bear, a Pueblo turtle, a Gambel quail, an Acoma Pueblo water bird, an Isleta Pueblo fish, a Pueblo owl, a Pueblo grashopper, a Pueblo turtle, a Hopi Sun & Cloud kachina, a Membres catfish, and a Pueblo cricket.

Proceedes will be used towards Red Rock Quilters Community Service projects including Camp Soaring Eagle, Clothe a Child, Northern AZ Healtcare Pediatrics and First Step programs, Kachina Point/Sedona Winds, Verde Valley Sanctuary, and Quilts of Valor.
