Director: Promotional Sales & Special Projects

Penny Hulse

Penny Hulse is a native “Zoni” having been born and raised in Wickenburg, Arizona. She currently resides in Peoria and has three boys, two dogs and one sassy cat.  Her paternal grandmother was a seamstress and quilter.  Through her, Penny’s love of sewing developed and while growing up, Penny made most of her own clothes.  Penny began quilting in 2013 and started a UFO Quilters’ Meetup group in 2014.  Through this avenue she discovered AQG’s chapter A to Z Quilters and joined to learn more about quilts.  Penny enjoys making all types of quilts but her true passion is collecting fabric especially in her favorite color of pink.

Today, she is the A to Z Quilters Chapter Chair and believes AQG has tremendous potential for keeping the quilt craft alive by education, creation and serving the community.  Reading Laura Neiman’s quote in the August Chatter, Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much" resonated with her and as such volunteered to audit the 2016/2017 books. While at the AQG’s offices she discovered a promotions person was needed and again raised her hand.  Penny looks forward to the upcoming year and being a part of the “together” in AQG.
