Chapter Reports: Dusty Desert Quilt Guild

2016 Reports

March 2016

The Dusty Desert Quilt Guild members in Holbrook have been busy making table favors for the Spring Meeting in Sedona. We are all excited and looking forward to meeting other members from around the state at the meeting. This past Christmas we collected stuffed animals for a service project. Karen McLaws took charge for us and delivered them to the CPS in our area for gifts to the children. We also have a member who just finished her chemo treatments and explained what it is like for those who have to endure the treatments. Due to the cold atmosphere in the rooms in order to ward off any germs or possible infections while getting the treatments, our guild is making and delivering warm blankets, headbands, hats and mittens for the Cancer Center in Flagstaff. We have members who have been with our guild since its original formation, along with many new members, we have many terrific personalities and we have a great time in our meetings. Come visit us at our upcoming quilt show here in Holbrook in the NE part of our state. We join the Old West Days celebrations. All will be on Friday July 15th and Saturday July 16th at the Catholic family center on Arizona Street across from the Catholic Church. Mark your calendars now so we can have lots of friends and quilters come to see us. Check us out on the Holbrook Chamber of Commerce website.
