Chapter Reports: Cholla

2016 Reports

January 2016

Every year the Cholla Quilters make and fill about 150 stockings for House of Refuge. The children range in age from newborn to 16. We work on this project throughout the year, from January to November and deliver the stockings in December. We really enjoy making items to put in the stockings for each of the children. Some of the items we made this year were pillow cases, snap bags, bibs, teddy bears, owl tooth pillows and bracelets. Other items included are toiletries, coloring books and gift cards. Lolly Platt, Sue Thompson and Shirley Hobbs delivered the stockings after Cholla's Christmas Party on December 4. On December 14, Santa and his elves arrived at House of Refuge on the antique fire truck from the Gilbert fire department and passed out the stockings to the children.
